Tank Lanning’s guest on the Front Row Grunt show on 2oceansvibe.com last night was none other than Sunday Times rugby writer Craig Ray – The man who co-authored “In Black and White”, The Jake White Story, in 2007, which has gone on to sell in excess of 220 000 copies – a record for any South African book. A man who has also commentated on more than 50 Springbok, Super 14 and Currie Cup matches for SAFM and Radio 2000.
Tank and Craig used their hour long pink ticket on “Klein Saterdag” to discuss how the book came about, what went into writing it, including spending the 2 days after the RWV final in 2007 finishing it off rather than celebrating, and the little hiccup that came in the form of Jake’s agent after the book went on sale.
They then chatted about the recently published Currie Cup TV numbers … Friday games being crap for TV, The Bulls getting ahead of WP, and how TV seems to be taking people away from stadia? And then they chatted Springbok rugby in depth before making a few weekend predictions …
Take a listen …
