The aim behind the Put It In The Bucket Charity is to raise funds for a terminally ill person in order to fulfill their ‘Bucket List’
And have a lot of fun while doing so …
So it’s into the Breede river we go (the side of the river with no sharks, and the side closest to Cape Town), to take on world record holder Cameron van der Burgh in a 1.7 km dash!
Or meander on a tractor tyre tube with a glass of wine in the fun “swim” …

About a third of the way into the swim last year I had to shed the wetsuit due to heat!! You try taking off a skin tight suit in the middle of a river! I will definitely be sans wetsuit this year, no matter how cold the water is … You in?
