Argentina dominated all the attacking stats, but they gave away 15 penalties while the Boks amassed 13 turnovers, five of them via Francois Louw. Take in all the match stats from their 24-13 win over Argentina.

Last week the All Blacks dominated the attacking stats while also winning the game, a rarity in modern day rugby, sadly. As can be seen from the match stats out of Friday night’s 24-13 win over Argentina by the Springboks.
The men from South America dominated every single attacking stat – carries, defenders beaten, metres run, offloads and passes – yet were never in the game on the scoreboard.
Sure, these attacking phases put together by the Pumas probably took place in the wrong part of the field, but they also gave away 15 penalties, and coughed up the ball via turnover 13 times.
And for a side like the Boks, who to be fair, did try and run the ball a little more than they have in the tournament to date, these errors were more than enough to not only keep them in the game, but apply pressure that resulted in points.
Both Damien de Allende and Jesse Kriel were busy on the night, the latter contributing hugely with ball in hand, but his 4 missed tackles will have the coaches calling for the big stick.
Frans Malherbe was again very impressive at tighthead prop, growing into the position nicely since taking over from stalwart Jannie du Plessis. His defence is good (17 tackles made), while his carries (3 on Friday night) are now also becoming more effective.
But the man who shines brightest in the stats is that ultimate workhorse, Francois Louw. His 5 carries, 1 offload, and 18 tackles are impressive, but it’s the 5 turnovers that he burgled at the breakdown that really steal the limelight.
