How do you like dem odds?

Game on as the international portion of Super Rugby kicks in, and BetFlash will give you 75/1 on wins for all of the Chiefs, Bulls, Blues, Reds and Lions … Stranger things have happened!

Tank Lanning

So shoot me … I find the games between the Kiwi teams and the games between the SA sides and the Kiwis more entertaining than the SA derbies! Keep those for that grand old dame called the Currie Cup I say …

And this weekend we have it all:

Friday 21 Feb:

08:35 Crusaders vs Chiefs, AMI Stadium, Christchurch

19:10 Cheetahs vs Bulls, Vodacom Park, Bloemfontein

Saturday 22 Feb:

08:35 Highlanders vs Blues, Forsyth Barr, Dunedin

10:40 Brumbies vs Reds, Canberra Stadium, Canberra

17:05 Sharks vs Hurricanes, Kings Park, Durban

19:10 Lions vs Stormers, Ellis Park, Johannesburg

Sunday 23 Feb:

07:05 Waratahs vs Western Force, Allianz Stadium, Sydney

My picks for the weekend:

CHIEFS to beat Crusaders by 5

CHEETAHS to beat Bulls by 2

HIGHLANDERS to beat Blues by 7

BRUMBIES to beat Reds by 7

SHARKS to beat Hurricanes by 14

STORMERS to beat Lions by 3

WARATAHS to beat Force by 12

BetFlash clearly disagree with me and will give you only 0.55 on the Saders and 1.5 on the Chiefs, so there might be a little cash to be made there. These men from Christchurch are notoriously slow starters, and the Chiefs are not double defending champs without reason! Cruden captains from flyhalf, the beat that is Robbie Fruean make his Chiefs debut at centre and they have the legend Mils Muliaina at fullback …

BetFlash have the Weekend winners at the following odds:

CRU, BUL, BLU, BRU, STO – 7/1

CRU, CHE, HIGH, BRU, STO – 8/1

CHI, BUL, BLU, BRU, STO – 11/1

CHI, CHE, BLU, BRU, STO – 11/1

CRU, CHE, BLU, RED, STO – 12/1

CHI, CHE, BLU, RED, STO – 20/1

CRU, BUL, BLU, BRU, LIO – 25/1

CHI, BUL, BLU, RED, LIO – 75/1

75/1 on wins for all of the Chiefs, Bulls, Blues, Reds and Lions … Stranger things have happened! Just R10 on that gets you and 7 mates unlimited chicken wings and ribs at Spur next Thursday!

More realistic, though, is perhaps wins for Chiefs, Bulls, Blues, Brumbies and Stormers at 11/1. So that would take a bet of R70 to get you and 7 mates to the wing and rib feast. R10 down and you can enjoy it without mates … Not ideal, but better than a kick in the head!

Some pretty cool BetFlash FlashBets on the go as well –

8/1 on the Bulls AND Stormers to finish in the bottom 6 (sadly, a real option!)

6/1 on the Lions to Beat the Bulls TWICE (mmmm, not so sure)

4/1 on the Bulls to LOSE to ALL SA Teams (not ridiculous)

9/2 on the Sharks to Win the tournament (definitely an option)

7/2 on the Sharks and Crusaders contesting the Final (candy from kids?)

A quick R50 on that final FlashBet would net you a sneaky R325.00 … That is unlimited wings and ribs for you and 2 mates, or you and a buddy with a few droughts of your favourite amber nectre thrown in. From a bet that would not cover the parking while on a horrific Saturday morning curtain shopping session with the Aunty in your life!

But wait … There is more! BetFlash is also the main sponsor the MyPredictor competition that asks you predict where each team will end up on the Super Rugby log come the end of the league part of the season, and they are giving the person who gets it spot on a chance to win a million bucks!

  1. Tank,

Firstly great big thanks for not just entertaining but very plausible points of view on the best game in the world!! The last weekends games were clearly not as predictable as I thought but your average was better than mine. That said I am eagerly awaiting your round 3 picks and pinning my Superbru title hopes on you and the pot at the end of the tournament. (No Pressure!!)

    Thanks again!!
