How do you like dem odds?

BetFlash will give you 84/1 on it being a draw at both half time and full time at Newlands on Saturday … Or how does 5/1 on Gio Aplon scoring the first try of the final sound?

Slim pickings in terms of the amount of actual rugby being played this weekend … But both games are pretty damn spicy … We have the promotion relegation match on Friday and then the final on Saturday.

The three way odds on both those games from BetFlash are:

Western Province – 0.67, Sharks – 1.4, Draw – 20

Pumas – 1.1, Griquas – 0.8, Draw – 13.5

Tough to make a buck on those bloody odds, unless you fancy a draw or upset. Pumas at 1.1 is not the worst bet as I think BetFlash have got this one wrong … At home, unless Griquas completely reinvent themselves, the Pumas should take this one …

And at Newlands, both sides will obviously desperately want to win, but the home side have a cause – to win it for Cape legends Jean de Villiers and Schalk Burger, who both missed last year’s win and have never won the Currie Cup. They are a settled side playing some excellent rugby that now comes with more attacking intent … A game the players look more happy to play. But it will be tight, and a R10 buck dip on a draw at 20/1 is not the worst call …

And below, a few of the more different (and longer) odds from BetFlash that might also see you putting a few bob down … Got to be in it to win it as they say in the classics …

We like these half time draw odds. With both games set to be tight to begin with, the chances of the score being even at half time are a whole lot better than come the final whistle:

At Newlands:

Half time / Full time: Draw / WP: 17.25

Half time / Full time: Draw / Sharks – 26

Half time / Full time: Sharks / Draw – 51

Half time / Full time: Draw / Draw – 84

At Mbombela:

Half time / Full time: Draw / Pumas – 23

Half time / Full time: Draw / Griquas – 21

The most likely in our book is the half time draw and then wins for WP and the Pumas, and at 17.25 and 23, that is not half bad.

And lastly, a look at the legendary FlashBets on the site:

20/1 – Extra Time in the CC Final

5/1 – Aplon to Score First Try

1.25 – Pumas to beat Griquas by MORE than 2

Evens – Catrakilis to slot a Drop Goal

So how about R10 down on the 84/1 draw /draw scenario at Newlands, and then another ten bucks down on the their being extra time at 20/1. Both come off and that is R 1040.00 in your pocket! R20 bucks won’t even get you a beer at some poncy places these days, but a grand will see you hosting the best braai ever for the first Bok game of the end of year tour next month!!

All above odds available on the BetFlash site …

  1. Flippin’ nice! WP will defs smack those Durbanites, but the half-time draw with an eventual WP win is definitely not a bad call!!
