Kings lose Engelbrecht

Hot on the heels of the King’s implosion against the Waratahs, star 8th man, Jacques Engelbrecht, has sprained his ankle and will not play this weekend.

Engelbrecht has been for a scan and the X-rays show up nothing untoward, but Kings director of rugby Alan Solomons told Gavin Rich of SuperSport that the discomfort felt by Engelbrecht was severe enough for him to sit out this coming week’s fixture.

And out wide, Wing Sergeal Petersen, the scorer of the only Kings try against the Waratahs, sustained a grade two hamstring tear and will be out for what Solomons estimates will be a period of three to four weeks.

Michael Killian will in all likelihood replace Petersen on the wing for the Kings while Luke Watson, on the bench against the Waratahs, will no doubt get a start at 8.
