Cronje back at 10 for Lions

Sure it’s not a grudge match. Whatever. The Lions have moved Lionel Cronje back to flyhalf for the ultra friendly against the Kings.

With scrumhalf Michael Bondesio and eighthman Willie Britz being ruled out for about four weeks due to injury, coach Johan Ackermann has made two positional changes and two injury forced changes to the side that went down 38-32 against the Bulls in Soweto last Saturday.

Ross Cronje will replace Bondesio at scrumhalf while JJ Breet moves into the side in the place of Britz, with Derick Minnie moving to eighthman.

Ackermann once again shuffled his halfback combination with Lionel Cronje taking up the pivot position in the place of Marnitz Boshoff, who moves to fullback.

Andries Coetzee moves from fullback to the wing with Deon Helberg shifting to the bench.

Namibia have cancelled their fixture against the Lions on February 23, so the men from Joburg will enjoy a sizeable break after the game against the Kings – giving the likes of Deon van Rensburg and CJ van der Linde plenty of recovery time.
