Sharks coach John Plumtree has confirmed that Butch James is expected back shortly but will miss the start of their Super Rugby campaign.
“Butch had a scope done on his knee two weeks ago to remove loose bodies,” Plumtree told the Sharks website. “It’s not serious and he is expected to be ready in a fortnight.”
The Sharks first warm-up game was against the Leopards in Pietermaritzburg last Friday night and while scoring 11 tries in hammering the opposition, it came at a cost.
Both Keegan Daniel (knee) and Tim Whitehead (broken arm) were injured against the Leopards and will be out for at least 6 weeks.
The Sharks start their Super15 campaign against the Cheetahs on February the 23rd (17:05 kick-off).
