One of the charities I support is the Chris Burger – Petro Jackson Players Fund. They do so much for players who suffer traumatic neck injuries … So it’s music to my ears to hear that the second Players 4 Players barefoot bowls event has been set for the 19th of November at the Mowbray bowls club near the UCT soccer fields in Cape Town …
In a nutshell:
- Lawn bowls
- Some stand up comedy
- Rubbing shoulders with a few Bok and WP players
- Fun in the sun with mates
- A few raffles
- Lucky draws
- Spot prizes
- An auction with some great collector items
- A boerie roll or 3 washed down with plenty of beer
Last year the guys managed to raise around R30,000 and are confident the new target of R50,000 will be reached with your help …
