Front Row Grunt

Rugby … with cauliflower ears

Tighter than a grasshopper’s hamstring!

My word, does it come any tighter than that? Just 31 points separated all 14 teams and 13 of those came in the Stormers “hammering” of the Canes …

The Stormers were dealt a massive blow with the news that Schalk Burger has torn the medial ligaments in his knee and will be out for six weeks …

  1. Hi Tank, I can’t believe that torn ligaments will result in “only” 6 weeks’ injury. If the ligaments are torn it will surely be for a longer period. (I know that was said at the press conference – if it is the case I’ll obviously be very relieved). I think the Stormers should pick Rohan Kitshoff – he seems to be the only genuine quality fetcher around. I was too late to catch the Province match at Newlands – do you know what the score was and how Kitshoff played ?
The balance of the loosies is not what it should be like – now there are 3 ball carriers and no fetchers !

    • The medial ligament is the ‘best” one to injure as it is straight … The cruciates are the bastards … Also time off depends on how bad the tear is.

Only saw last 10 mins of WP game – they beat Griquas by 10 … Big fan of the fetcher and would also play Kitshoff. Also prefer Vermeulen at 8. I would play Kitshoff, Kolisi and Vermeulen with Koster on the bench … Better balance to my mind …
